TerraCorps, an AmeriCorps national service organization focused on connecting communities to the land, has selected Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust to be a Service Site for the 2019-2020 program year. This partnership will allow Mount Grace to host two TerraCorps Members: a Regional Conservation Coordinator and a Youth Engagement and Stewardship Coordinator in full-time 11-month service positions from August 2019 to July 2020.
TerraCorps is currently accepting applications. Please visit terracorps.org/become-a-member If you are interested in serving with TerraCorps at Mount Grace.
Members will spend their service term supporting the local community by developing partnerships, leading programming, and engaging with volunteers. The Regional Conservation Coordinator will support the Greater Quabbin Food Alliance’s goal to strengthen and support the local food system, and the North Quabbin Regional Landscape Partnership’s efforts to save and steward important forests, farms, and wild areas. The Youth Engagement and Stewardship Coordinator creates programs that engage young people with the outdoors and implements stewardship projects on Mount Grace lands such as building trails and improving wildlife habitat.
Members will have the opportunity to gain hands-on community organizing experience and will receive professional development training and mentorship. Members also receive a living allowance, and are eligible for healthcare coverage, childcare coverage, loan forbearance, and an education award.
