Massachusetts’ forests, fields, farms, and wetlands are essential for what they provide to wildlife and to people — including a more livable climate.

Natural and working lands are recognized as an essential part of climate action. At the state level, we’ve made some progress in recognizing every acre’s role in removing and storing carbon pollution.

However, changes in land use policies and support for municipalities and landowners are the key to going the rest of the way.

The Nature Conservancy, Representative Joan Meschino, and I will share more on the actions we are taking to help unlock the power of natural climate solutions, including our bill An Act investing in natural and working lands (S.549/H.1005).
