Hike of the Month: Skyfields Arboretum

The 40 acres of rolling meadows and mixed deciduous forest surrounding Mount Grace’s headquarters are a joy to explore in every season—especially in the fall. If leaf-peeping is on your autumn bucket list, look no further.
Skyfields offers two trails to choose from: the Willis Woods Loop Trail (often called the West Loop) and the Skyfields Conservation Area East Loop. You can walk both the arboretum and Willis Woods trails in about an hour—but we encourage you to take your time.
The arboretum is open to the public for non-motorized outdoor recreation, including hiking, birdwatching, nature study, and hunting, with parking available at Mount Grace’s headquarters. While you’re here this fall, don’t miss our newly planted pollinator garden and the limited-time storybook trail.
Note: The property tends to have a high number of ticks in the spring and early summer.
