"The Bug Girl" Storybook Trail

Where: Paul C. Dunn Woodland Preserve | 2 Hewitt Rd, Ashburnham, MA 01430

Description: Celebrate the start of summer by visiting our storybook trail! Mount Grace will be featuring The Bug Girl at our Paul Dunn Woodland Preserve in Ashburnham. Follow the story clockwise along the trail from the parking lot out to the wetland overlook. The story runs 0.2 miles. The full trial loop is 1.2 miles.  

Book Synopsis: In The Bug Girl, Sophia Spencer tells her own story about her love of insects. After being bullied for her passion and almost giving up on her interests, her mom shared her story. Sophia was met with support from scientists all around the world encouraging her to follow her dreams of becoming an entomologist (insect scientist). This story celebrates women in science, the beauty of bugs, and the importance of doing what you love. 

Access: Parking is available by the trail kiosk. The storybook trail begins at the trailhead. The trail is forested with a rooty earth surface. The trail is not suitable for strollers.
