Date: Sunday, October 12th 10 AM -12 PM

Event in partnership with Athol Bird & Nature Club

Mid-October is an exciting time to go out exploring and observe animals getting ready for winter, both above and below the water’s surface. Aquatic biologist Cathy Szal and science teacher Katrina Walton will teach us about underwater creatures and their behavior as we explore what we find at the water’s edge. A birder from the Athol Bird and Nature Club will lead us in identifying migratory waterfowl from the many views along Eagle Reserve’s Peninsula trail. We’ll generate a biodiversity list of all the creatures we find together.

During this event we’ll walk the somewhat hilly 1-mile (.5 miles out and .5 miles back) Peninsula Trail. Please wear proper footwear. There are no facilities in the general area so please be self-contained with water, snacks, and shoes for wading in shallow water if you are so inclined. If you have binoculars, please bring those too!

We hope you can join us for this free, family-friendly event for all ages! Rain or shine!
